Something to cut the edge on a crappy day...

Today has not been the best day so I need to fill it with some of the best music.  Most of these songs aren't meant to change my mood, but serve more as a soundtrack to the day.

1. Comfortably Numb - Sarah Slean: It's a cover of the Pink Floyd classic by a groovy Canadian singer who should be more well known. I love the trance-like quality she brings to the song.  Fun note: I met Ms. Slean in NYC. She's extremely friendly and was a real pleasure to converse. "Hello...hello...hello... Is there anybody in there?  Just nod if you can hear me.  Is there anyone home?"

2. Stormy Weather - Etta James - Oh Etta, how I love thee!  She could sing the phone book and I would love it.  This song has such a great meaning to my moment.  While this isn't the most somber arrangement, it still captures the ache.  "Don't know why there's no sun up in the sky, stormy weather."

3. Linkin Park - Numb - Angry. Bitter. In your face. This song captures a lot of what I've felt of late. Just so you know it's not a relationship feeling, but more a general life feeling.  Overwhelmed and "I'm tired of being what you want me to be."
